The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is one of the UAE’s oldest and most prestigious Universities. Established in 1993 by the University of Wollongong in Australia, UOWD represents a pioneering Australian initiative in the Gulf region that has grown into a comprehensive, dual-accredited institution. UOWD provides a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Business and Management, Finance and Accounting, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Computer Science and Engineering.

UOW College Hong Kong (UOWCHK), has over 35 years of experience in providing quality tertiary education in Hong Kong. Since July 2015, the College has been in a formal alliance with the University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia, through which our students’ horizons and learning experiences have been widened and enriched via visits by UOW academics or exchange programmes to UOW. Through UOWCHK, UOW offers top-up programs in Communication and Media Studies, and Computer Science.

UOW Malaysia
UOW has delivered programs in Malaysia for more than 10 years and in 2018 UOW continued its global expansion by acquiring the university colleges of Malaysian private education provider KDU. The acquisition expands the University’s global campus network and is an exciting new initiative.

Central China Normal University Wollongong Joint Institute (NB: CCNU link is unavailable to view in Google Chrome Browser, view in Safari or Internet Explorer) is a key comprehensive university directly under the administration of the Chinese Ministry of Education. As one of the universities on the list of 211 National Education Priority Projects, CCNU is highly recognized as an important base for cultivating brilliant talents for the country, as well as a superior training centre for excellent teachers in higher learning institutions and high schools. Through the CCNU Wollongong Joint Institute the Master of Computer Science and Master of Engineering (Telecommunications) UOW degrees are offered.

SIM Global Education, an educational brand under SIM, offers a wide range of high quality degree programmes in both full time and part time options via its partnership with established international universities.  UOW offers high quality degree programs in partnership SIM UOW, including courses in Computer Science, Information Sciences and Psychology.

Twinning arrangements

The University of Wollongong has formal twinning arrangements with three prestigious Chinese Universities that are formally recognised by the Chinese Ministry of Education. Under these arrangements, there is close cooperation between UOW and our twinning partner in the design, development and delivery of the curriculum. Students are able to complete part of their program at their home institution and then transfer to UOW to complete the remainder of their degree.

Beijing Jiaotong University is a national key university listed in the “National 211 Project” and the Double First Class University Project with several disciplines in the First Class Discipline status. It is one of the prominent universities in the world for Transportation Science and Technology, including high speed trains. Students have the opportunity to study a UOW Engineering degree in Mechatronics at Beijing Jiaotong University.

Zhengzhou University is a national key university, it is listed in the “National 211 Project” and one of the top 42 Chinese First-Class universities in the Double First Class University Project. Through the twinning arrangement students have the opportunity to study UOW degrees in Engineering and Computer Science.

Tianjin Polytechnic University logo

Tianjin Polytechnic University is under the joint management of the Chinese Ministry of Education and Municipal government providing students with an opportunity to study UOW degrees in Engineering. Tianjin Polytechnic University has one discipline in the First Class Discipline status in the Double First Class University Project.

Taiyuan University of Technology (TYUT) logo

Taiyuan University of Technology (TYUT) is national key university listed in the "National 211 Project". A new twinning program in Mechanical Engineering at the undergraduate level commenced in 2020, students have the opportunity to study partial of the UOW degrees at TYUT.

Course transfer and credit exemption

UOW offers a number of course transfer and credit exemption options to students who are already studying a UOW course overseas, allowing students to transfer and study at UOW in Australia when international travel is permitted.

Students studying with UOW Dubai, UOW Malaysia KDU, or UOW College Hong Kong may be eligible for an offshore transfer discount that will reduce tuition fees for the subjects completed onshore in Australia by 25%. Learn more about offshore transfers.
